Grains Bakery first opened its doors in April of 2010. Upon opening in its first location and operating as a bakery and cafe, Grains quickly became a Grande Prairie favourite; loved equally for its artisan breads, beautiful baking, and bakery-style sandwiches.

Grains Bakery has been the concept of Grande Prairie’s own, Jennifer Popowich. Popowich was born and raised in Grande Prairie on her family’s grain farm; that continues to be an honoured family treasure. Growing up understanding the value of hard-work and traditional ways, its no surprise maintaining a natural approach to her craft has been important to Popowich. “Simple, fresh ingredients is our standard” Jennifer explains. “Making all our products the traditional way is important. Where else can you get bread where each loaf is literally hand rolled like it used to be?

In August of 2015, Grains Bakery moved into it's current location - a 4000 sq./ft open concept bakery market, and cafe. The space boasts a rustic, prairie farming atmosphere where friends can gather and enjoy fresh bakery lunches, the best coffee, and of course,
beautiful artisan breads. Grains Bakery is authentically Grande Prairie!
